John Eric Rembert was born and raised in Beacon, New York. He is the son of Willie D. Rembert (deceased) & Rosa D.Penfield ( deceased). He is the youngest of two sons. He has an older brother, David Wayne. John retired from the United States Army after twenty-seven years of service as a First Sergeant in October 2010. He was an Active duty Soldier, attached to Alpha Battery 1/258th Field Artillery, stationed at Stewart Airbase in New Windsor, NY. John has served his country in many different places.

John deployed for Operation Iraqi Freedom (2003-2005) as a Military Police Officer in The Operations and Planning of Iraqi civilians to become Iraqi police officers. While serving his country in Iraq, John led his unit with outstanding leadership skills in a combat zone. For his superior contributions to day to day operations at the Iraqi Police Academy, he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal.

John was licensed as an Ordained Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ , at the Star of Bethlehem Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Frederick H. Mills, Beacon,NY. John has also served as an associate Minister at the Mount Lebanon Baptist Church, Peekskill, NY under the leadership of Pastor Rev. Gary L. Colter. John believes that his true strength is granted to him by God, and that prayer changes everything.

His favorite Bible scripture comes from Psalm 34:8 (KJV): O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

John has served on the City Council board (2018-2020) in Beacon NY. John is an active member of the American Legion, Post 203, Beacon, and NY.

John is currently attending the Chaplain Resident program in Danbury Connecticut. John is the Pastor of the Mount Zion Baptist Church, Stormville, New York. John has earned a Bachelor of Professional Studies in Organizational Management. John is also pursuing a Master’s of Divinity at New York Theological Seminary, New York.

John has been happily married to wife Shari A. Rembert for the last nine years. He is a father of three. John and his wife currently reside in Beacon, New York.
